PROJECT SUMMARY

GREENE 4.0 addresses challenges faced by manufacturing companies, particularly those impacted by global supply chain disruptions and the need to create new value chains. This issue affects SMEs, large enterprises, and public authorities across Czech Republic, Slovenia, Austria, Italy, Germany, Poland, and Hungary. The project promotes transnational cooperation to pilot two smart and green manufacturing value chains, enhancing innovation in regional ecosystems for sustainable business transitions. By collaborating with business support organizations, research institutions, sectoral agencies, and public authorities, GREENE 4.0 will develop a digital innovation platform, transnational digital transformation sites, open innovation toolkits, and private equity tools. The initiative begins with a joint methodology to improve user acceptance, followed by deploying transformation sites, running innovation programs, and piloting the new value chains. Over 3 years, the project aims to strengthen companies’ capacities to innovate and adopt smart, green solutions, fostering new sustainable supply chain models through open innovation approaches.

PROJECT RESULT

The durability of GREENE 4.0 is ensured through a well-structured distribution of responsibilities among project partners, backed by their institutional resources, expertise, and ongoing access to public and private funding. Each partner is tasked with maintaining and scaling specific outputs, ensuring the long-term impact and transferability of the project’s outcomes. GREENE 4.0’s innovative tools, models, and platforms are designed to generate lasting impacts across multiple stakeholders, including SMEs, enterprises, research organizations, and RIS3 authorities.
