PROJECT SUMMARY
The project addresses the synchronized transnational digital
transformation of SMEs towards Industry and Logistics 4.0 in the Danube Region.
Its main objective is to establish the Danube DNA network—Digital
Transformation Network of Active SMEs training and knowledge centers—to drive
smart specialization, skills development, cross-sector collaboration, and SME
transformation. The network will align regional smart specialization strategies
through transnational guidelines based on comprehensive analyses of the
region's digital readiness and technology gaps. These guidelines will inform
skills development sessions, joint solutions, and pilot actions. Cross-border
knowledge transfer via Digital Transformation Centers (“one-stop shops”) will
enable SME digitalization, supported by tailored training modules. The centers
will develop six joint solutions, tested through 12 pilot actions across
participating countries, proving their validity and transferability. The
project's outcomes will be shared with SMEs, business organizations, and public
authorities via the Danube DNA platform, a Digital Transformation Expo, and
industry-specific webinars.
PROJECT RESULT
The project is designed to achieve its primary objective and
ensure the durability of its outputs through key steps: establishing a
transnational network of “one-stop shops” along the Danube to support SME
digital transformation, creating a platform for communication and knowledge
sharing, raising awareness about digitalization benefits through tailored
knowledge transfer modules, developing and testing joint solutions in SMEs via
pilot actions, and making these solutions open source for future use. Key outputs
include a signed Memorandum of Understanding between 26 organizations to
sustain collaboration, a transnational training module on SME digital
transformation accessible via the Danube DNA platform, and six open-source
solutions, including software and optimization tools. These solutions will be
tested through 12 pilot actions across the Danube region and remain available
for wider SME use, ensuring the project’s long-term impact and reach.
