The developed innovative service of spectroscopic oyster meat quality analysis (SOQA) is based on a combination of two advanced scientific methods: attenuated total internal reflection Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) absorption spectroscopy, and complex implementation of machine learning with an emphasis on neural networks (the most advanced form of using artificial intelligence). An innovative service for evaluating quality parameters and nutritional properties of oysters - SOQA offers unique functionalities: • Extremely accurate assessment of the four main oyster quality and nutritional value parameters that reflect the overall nutritional value of the oyster from the ATR-FTIR absorption spectrum: o water content, o protein content, o lipid content i o glycogen content with an accuracy level on TRL 8 > of 0.9 (method r2 - linear regression) and with a prediction error that does not exceed a value of 0.4% • Using neural network algorithms of the most sophisticated types of machine learning algorithms that can find the smallest correlation of different variables in a data set to ensure exceptional accuracy and versatility of analysis • Extremely fast analysis < 1 min • The sample does not require preparation • No reagents are required for the analysis • The analysis method is non-invasive • The ability to perform analysis on the spot, without the use of specialized laboratories • Simple upload of results through the use of a web application (SaaS model) - from anywhere, only an internet connection is required • Wide range of models and ways of using hardware devices • Extremely small amount of clam meat (1 clam) required for analysis • Applicability of the solution in all phases of the product life cycle (production, harvesting, distribution, end customer)
What is even more important, considering the exceptional need of the market, and the absence of any other solution that oyster growers, buyers/wholesalers, and retail end users could use in an industrially acceptable way - SOQA introduces structural changes in the oyster production and distribution market, and will set a new benchmark on the market for all companies involved in the oyster production cycle. Namely, the SOQA solution opens for the first time to all actors in the production/distribution chain of oysters the possibility of an efficient, acceptable, and "on the spot" solution for the analysis of the quality of the goods placed on the market. SOQA, solves all the frictions that until now have prevented the analysis of meat quality by the industry (the use of expensive, unavailable on-site, invasive and time-consuming procedures in a laboratory environment). The influence of such an innovative solution will create a new market for testing the quality and nutrients of oyster meat in all stages of development. The existing quality control services (which are used anyway only for the purpose of research projects of the scientific community) will become obsolete in the perspective of commercialization of SOQA products.
The SOQA solution is designed so that it can be integrated into various production systems, including already existing ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems. This means that the data obtained from the analysis can be easily integrated into the existing data and reporting flows within the production system. The solution does not require complex or specialized laboratory equipment, but uses available computer infrastructures, which facilitates implementation in production lines without the need for significant modifications. SOQA uses standardized software protocols, which facilitates integration with existing technologies and equipment in production processes. This aspect is crucial for reducing implementation costs and speeding up the integration process.
N/A
The SOQA solution is non-invasive and does not use chemical reagents in the analysis process, which significantly reduces the ecological footprint. This technology thereby minimizes the impact on the environment, which is in line with EU regulations that promote sustainable and environmentally friendly practices in the industry. Given that SOQA uses spectroscopic analysis without the need to generate waste (such as chemical residues or laboratory waste), the solution complies with EU directives related to the reduction of industrial waste and the protection of natural resources. The solution has gone through the stages of development and validation within the framework of the EUREKA program, which means that the key components of the technology have been tested and validated in accordance with industry standards. The EUREKA program has strict requirements for innovative projects, which implies that the SOQA solution has gone through rigorous evaluation processes.
SOQA is currently under development. Findings at the TRL 9 level.
