Description of center’s mission and objectives

JOiiNT LAB is a joint lab resulting from the partnership between Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia and Consorzio Intellimech. Its objective is to bridge research activities and industrial needs and create positive contamination between the two worlds. To facilitate technology transfer, the contribution of the whole innovation ecosystem is essential, and that involves research institutes, industrial partners, education hubs, and competence centers. Each of them supports the different development phases of new technologies and products, from the conception to the market.

Description of center’s facilities and equipment

The JOiiNT LAB is a lab located at the Kilometro Rosso in Bergamo. Offer more than 300sq m of space composed by 20 workstation, a workshop, testing area and industrial setup to make prototypes and validate them through demonstrators. The JOiiNT LAB brings together researchers, engineers and cutting edge laboratory equipment, creating a unique blend of design, technology, engineering and innovation expertise.

JOiiNT LAB is equipped with the most recent technological assets, including advanced tracking systems and state of art collaborative robots and grippers, such as: Cobots from different brands (ABB, Franka, UR, Doosan),Mobile robots (Robotnik, Clearpath Robotics),Composed robotic platforms (semi-humanoid platform), VR and optic or inertial motion capture systems, 2D cameras and 3D cameras (stereo, infrared, structured light), Gripper (hands, parallel, vacuum) from different brands (qb robotics, OnRobot)
