European Digital Innovation Hubs
European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs) serve as regional hubs where businesses and public-sector organisations can access support for tackling digital transformation.
What EDIHs Offer?
• Access to cutting-edge technology: test before you invest through demo environments and testbeds.
• Innovation & growth services: expert advice on investments, training programmes, and digital skills development.
• Green & circular solutions: addressing and supporting sustainable production and environmental goals through digital technologies.
Why EDIHs Matter?
Local expertise, European strength
EDIHs are located right where companies operate – speaking the language of the region and working closely with local innovation ecosystems.
At the same time, they’re interconnected across Europe, sharing know-how and offering specialist expertise across borders.
Public private investment
EDIHs are funded equally by the EU via the Digital Europe Programme and by Member States, regions, or private contributors. The first call funded 136 hubs and a second round added another 15.
Talent & AI-preparedness
As part of the 2025 AI Continent Action Plan, EDIHs are expanding practical AI training for people with diverse backgrounds, boosting workforce readiness in AI technologies.
EDIH Network
EDIHs form a vibrant network promoting collaboration between hubs, SMEs, mid-caps, public bodies, research organisations, and other stakeholders.
A digital platform, managed by the Digital Transformation Accelerator, features an online EDIH catalogue and tools to assess performance.

Furthermore, the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre offers the Digital Maturity Assessment tool.
EDIHs use it to help their clients track progress and report on transformation outcomes. Find out more here.
