Problem statement

SMEs in Serbia often lack knowledge about the principles of the circular economy and green transition. They need practical tools and clear guidance to implement sustainable practices within their businesses. To support this process, interactive cards covering key principles of the circular economy and green transition have already been translated, making them accessible to a wider audience. Further adaptations into multiple languages are planned to ensure broader usability across different countries.

Main outcome

More than 120 SMEs in 6 serbian cities participated in the workshops, gaining key insights and developing initiatives for sustainable growth. Participants implemented concrete measures for resource optimization, waste reduction, and increased energy efficiency. The workshops emphasized the importance of sustainable development and promoted innovative solutions that contribute to environmental protection in the country and the region. Entrepreneurs and experts from various sectors collaborated to develop sustainable solutions, essential for improving business operations and environmental stewardship.

Main Project Features:

  • Interactive workshops conducted as part of the POLICY ANSWERS program under Horizon Europe (Western Balkans Info Hub), representing a key step in strengthening capacities for creating, implementing, and supporting research and innovation policies in the Western Balkans.
  • Use of specially designed interactive cards covering key principles of the circular economy and green transition.
  • Group work focused on identifying problems and creating concrete solutions.
  • Practical suggestions for activities that businesses can immediately implement to optimize operations and improve energy efficiency.
