Solution overview

MePIS Energy is advanced energy management software that enables the efficient collection of energy data and analyses for energy consumption optimization. It supports automatic and manual data inputs. With its rich set of functionalities, it allows advanced analyses with normalizations, calculations of specific consumption (per produced product) and more. The software is user-friendly and tailored to different stakeholder groups such as department managers, energy managers and facility operators. Additionally, it has a powerful reporting tool embedded in the software.

MePIS Energy is a state-of-the-art, flexible and user-friendly software solution that can run on-premise or in the cloud, with the following key technical features: - Advanced data collection and storage. Communication with counters from different manufacturers and reliable storage in the process database is provided. - Data quality and security. To capture and store process data, we use proven industrial components from world- class manufacturers and techniques to ensure data credibility. - Data availability. All data is accessible via the REST API, which also enables the execution of analyses in other analytical tools. - Web user interface. MePIS Energy is a web application that can be used with any browser on a computer, tablet or smartphone without any need for additional installation. - A unique user experience. A modern and intuitive user interface provides a comprehensive overview of energy consumption, enabling quick identification of anomalies and development of appropriate measures. - Simple integration into the existing environment. MePIS Energy can be easily connected to existing ERP or MES systems, relational or process databases and various counters. - High flexibility. The system enables the collection of data in various formats and quick adjustment of displays, indicators, alarms, reports or the structure of measured units (measures, departments, consumers, suppliers, etc.). - Compliance with standards. Energy consumers are organized in a tree structure according to the S95 standard, which enables transparency and ease of use. Compliance with ISO 50001 and ISO 14001 standards is ensured.

Car manufacturer in Central Europe. CHALLENGE: Since the automotive industry is very energy intensive (energy represents 10 - 15 % of the production costs), each optimization brings considerable savings, enhanced competitiveness and less environmental impact. Therefore, the management of the car manufacturer in Central Europe wanted to set up an effective system for the control over energy consumption which would offer the complete information about how, where and when energy is used and enable the improvement of energy efficiency of the manufacturing process. SOLUTION: For this purpose, the car manufacturer selected the MePIS Energy as their energy management system, which has been customized by Metronik to meet the specific requirements of the automotive industry. At shop floor, the system provides users with all relevant information regarding energy consumption and helps them in managing energy systems as well as controlling energy consumption. Waste data is also integrated into MePIS Energy, resulting in comprehensive portal for energy and waste management which can display consumed energy and generated waste individually for each car. The MePIS Energy information system in numbers: More than 800 measurements for monitoring the consumption of energy and water, the system monitors 9 different energy media, and uses more than 50 different parameters as well as 2000 calculations, reports are configured as required by the user, 2 multi-dimensional OLAP data systems for preforming analyses according to the data mining principle, Energy Report for each manufactured vehicle. RESULT: The MePIS Energy system provides a higher level of transparency at the shop floor. It provides an overview of the key performance indicators regarding energy efficiency. The system also enables an automatic generation of energy reports, which take into account specific calculations of energy consumptions regarding each produced car. This allows the decision makers to adopt key business decisions. With the help of the MePIS Energy system the manufacturer also acquired the Green Factory international certificate.
