Problem statement
The EchoEgg project addressed the inefficiencies in quality assurance and production monitoring processes within an egg processing factory. Despite existing digital data collection, many quality control and monitoring routines were conducted manually, leading to resource-intensive operations and slower response times. The factory required a comprehensive digital solution to improve data integration, enhance process monitoring and reduce manual interventions, ultimately improving production efficiency and reducing environmental impact.
Main outcome
The project achieved significant results, including the elimination of manual data logging in quality assurance, streamlining operations, and reducing labour intensity. Real-time data access enabled immediate corrective actions during production, improved operator oversight, and enhanced the accuracy of production statistics and yield calculations. The solution also ensured better resource efficiency, as energy consumption data became electronically traceable. The successful integration of data sources and visualisation tools facilitated continuous monitoring, resulting in improved production management, quality control, and environmental performance. Both Ecomotive Ltd and Cubilog Ltd gained business value, with the latter now offering an advanced service adaptable to other industries.
